(@daviddixoninc) A beautiful collection inspired by the strength, power and sensitivity of the women that surround him, #DavidDixon presents Sisters, The Gene collection!!
David Dixon presents Sisters, The Gene collection that explores the strength, power and sensitivity of the women that surround him in body and in spirit.
The Mississauga, Ontario-based designer celebrated the 20th anniversary of his eponymous womenswear label last year, and made a sentimental return to the catwalk with his new Gene Collection. Dixon’s new Fall/Winter collection was created in partnership with Ovarian Cancer Canada and in honour of his late sister, Susan. Paying tribute to survivors of ovarian cancer as well as sisters everywhere, Dixon crafted an ultra-feminine collection of silky fabrics, tulle hemlines and voluminous skirts. Designs were adorned with oversized bows, sheer panels and dainty studs, with elegant neutral shades of black and white setting the mood.
Dixon capped the moving tribute by stepping onto the runway with women whose lives have been touched by ovarian cancer, including Erinn Monture, who was days away from starting her third cycle of chemotherapy.
